The aim of this enterprise project is to assess the feasibility of setting up a gin bar in Cardiff city centre. In order to carry out this project the author set out a series of aims and objectives in order to bring the project to its conclusion. The first objective was to carry out a comprehensive literature review which entailed thorough secondary desk based research. This included relevant academic work regarding the hospitality industry that the proposed business would be entering. The literature review additionally investigates market trends within the sector and the current economic climate. Second to this, primary research was carried out and collated in the form of questionnaires and a semi-structured interview. The questionnaires determined the target market and measured the feasibility and potential demand for the proposed business. The semi-structured interview was used as an investigation into the bar industry and provided valuable data from an industry expert. The information gathered allowed the author to construct a detailed business plan to underpin the proposed business concept. Each section has been supported by the primary research, particularly the financial forecasts and the marketing strategy. A detailed SWOT and PESTLE analysis were devised to analyse the current market positioning and situation of the proposed business. Following the business plan is a critical analysis, discussion and conclusion of the feasibility of the business with recommendations for improvement.
