TO INVESTIGATE THE PUBLIC AWARENESS OF DATA SECURITY MEASURES IN CARDIFF

An investigation has taken place to determine the public awareness of data security measures around Cardiff. Research questions, aims and objectives have been followed throughout the study. Information has been gathered relating to what the public know in regards to data security and what measures they currently use. Information regarding the area of study has been collected to establish the current status of data security measures. An in-depth discussion can be found within chapter 2. A detailed description of how the research study has been carried out can be found within chapter 3. Any limitations and ethical considerations have been taken into account. To determine how the public perceive data security measures, a survey has been created and distributed to a sample population. The responses from this survey were analysed and can be found within chapter 4. A discussion of any comparisons with previous surveys can also be found within this chapter. A conclusion of the project and how the research questions have been met can be found within chapter 5. The study has shown that people are generally aware of data security measures. Although, they appear to be less aware about how data may be comprised through techniques such as social engineering.
