As a result of restructuring our computing undergraduate programmes, we introduced group projects as an integrating central spine for Levels 1 and 2. The task includes requirements discovery, software development, team working, negotiation and project management. We found careful team formation and fostering of close staff-group relationships to be invaluable. The outcome has been an improved sense of engagement for both students and staff plus improved student technical skills arising from the experiential learning.en_US
