Abstract
This book highlights the `gritty' reality of sports coaching, inclusive of its messy and contested, as well as its humorous and self-actualising, nature. The text is initially given over to a critical deconstruction of coaching as a socio-pedagogic endeavour, before a subsequent reconstruction in terms of how it can be done better.
