Creativity needs to thrive inside and across organisations to help address the major global challenges we face. We review some key findings from creativity research and present a new model for creativity where the ideas of presencing play an important role. The LCD model (Listen, Connect, Do) for creativity puts dynamic movement and a person’s state of being at its core. We describe the key features of the model and reflect on the similarities and differences between these features and the core elements of Theory U and presencing. Next, we share our thoughts on practical steps organisations can take to enhance the creativity of their staff and how these steps map to the ideas highlighted in Theory U. Finally, we discuss how Theory U could be extended to incorporate some of the ideas from our LCD model and suggest that presencing could be at the heart of all Theory U activities, whether that is listening, observing, connecting, making, collaborating or reflecting.en_US
