Cecile Johnson Soliz interviewed by Jeffrey Jones. Topics; sculpture which refers to ceramic; Chimney pot sculptures- Red Bank; Factory in N.Italy - wood burning stove; Serpentine Gallery - Eight Vases; The National Museum of Wales - Regarding the Function of Objects; Fine art as craft; clay and it's associations. Jones conducted the interview as part of his general information gathering. The interview was used to inform a response to Johnson Soliz's exhibition "Warm" at Station Gallery, Bristol 16 Feb-10 March 2002, the article Heatwork by Jones was published in Ceramic Review Issue 197 (Sep/Oct 2002) p.28-31. (A folder of notes and images in relation to Warm and Jones' article are stored in the Ceramics Collection, as yet uncatalogued). Cecile Johnson Soliz was the Henry Moore Fellow in Sculpture at Cardiff School of Art & Design (1995-1997). She was Senior Lecturer and then, Head of Fine Art and Programme Leader in Sculpture at CSAD until July 2011.
