This research looks at the effects of twenty20 cricket on professional and amateur cricket clubs based on four main areas of investigation. These were operational changes, marketing changes, the impact on participation at amateur clubs and the development of links between cricket clubs in both domains and schools. The findings were gathered from two amateur and four professional clubs based in England and Wales. The study finds that twenty20 cricket had a noticeable impact on the links developed by the professional clubs as well as changes to the operational and marketing activities. Findings also indicated that twenty20 had little or no impact on any development of links or participation at the amateur clubs investigateden_GB
