Abstract
The purpose of the research is to see how UBB clients manage their money, their risk preferences and are they willing to invest in a mutual fund. It aims to help UBB Asset Management understand what its opportunities are. An important issue, which should be resolved, is which steps should be undertaken by UBB Asset management in order to attract customer’s attention and what are the factors that influence UBB client’s choices – saving in bank account or managing. Also which are the most popular and preferred kinds of investment products (different kinds of mutual funds with different risk profile). In the Introduction section I described the financial situation in Bulgaria the history of asset management companies in Bulgaria and more specifically UBB Asset Management In the chapter Literature Review I shortly described the history of mutual funds, the fund industry in Europe. Also I pointed out what is mutual fund, reasons for buying mutual fund, similarities and differences of mutual funds and so on. In the Research Questions and Methodology I described main points that should be considered, the research questions, which should be examined by the research and the methodology used. In the chapter Data and Analysis I described the data collection and the data analysis. In the Conclusions and Recommendations I examined what is understood from the primary and secondary research performed, and mainly what steps should be taken UBB Asset Management to improve its position on the mutual funds sector in Bulgaria.
