The Motivation of the British Buyers of Rural Properties in Bulgaria

This paper examines the motivation of the British buyers of rural properties in Bulgaria. The scope of the research is to identify the motivation of the UK buyers of Bulgarian properties in rural areas, which will help estate agents to improve their services by offering different types of properties to the respective audience and to increase customer’s satisfaction. The survey is planned to measure motivation therefore it will be conducted using questionnaires. The type of questionnaires selected is web-based, and includes a set of 16 questions, most of which are in closed type format, collecting qualitative data. There are only three open type questions collecting quantitative data. The results of the qualitative data were converted into numerical values and analyzed by using single-variation and chi-square analyses; correlation matrix was created for testing dependencies between variables; linear regression was also used. The results are presented with tables and charts and the main themes formed are described in chapter 4 reporting on the results. The questionnaire, coding used, all responses and the general statistics of the survey are included in the appendices. The research methodology is described in details and all analyses – explained. The dissertation paper includes all the conclusions and recommendations made upon the findings of the survey. Full list of references are also included just before the appendices section.
