The aim of the research was to examine the participation and performance patterns of undergraduate students in the UWIC Squash Club. The sample consisted of the entire club, including: males [n=10] and females [n=5]. A mixed methodology was adopted. The initial stage required all subjects to complete a questionnaire. Six subjects (3 = Males / 3 = Females) were randomly selected to complete the interview process. The results suggested players were performing at a lower level since enrolling at UWIC. Themes which emerged from the interview process included: Balancing University & Training, Coaching, Motivation, Training / Influence of others, UWIC’s priorities towards participation and performance. These themes were specifically relevant to a university environment. A model was generated which attempted to mirror the performance patterns displayed by members of the UWIC Squash Club in the light of the questionnaire and interview results
