Abstract
Performance analysis is in high demands within all sports (Hughes and Bartlett, 2008). With high demands question have been ask about the effect performance analysis has upon an individuals or teams’ performance. Garganta (2009) study highlighted that there is a lack of research conducted within this area. Therefore the purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact performance analysis has upon a team’s performance. UWIC’s 4th netball team was analysed within a seven match to match cycle after consent was received off all participants. Data gathered from the matches was then relayed back to the coach for her to adapt the information received into training sessions. The training sessions were also evaluated to see how feedback was delved and how the statistic where used. Although only having analysed half the season it was seen that performance analysis has a slight positive effect on the team’s overall performance, when comparing the first four games to the last four games UWIC played. It was also seen that the quality of the opposition had a significant effect on a team’s performance.
