Abstract
The focus of this research is in the area of Dance Imagery. This study is important as there is a need to find a connection with dance imagery and technique in a higher education and if the use of teacher or student initiated imagery is more effective when put into practice. The research approach used in this dissertation includes using students from Cardiff Metropolitan University on the BA (Hons) Dance course, and to find results using questionnaires, dance diaries and observation formally known as a triangulation method. The findings from this research provide an indication that dance imagery appears to help the enhancement of the learning in higher education. The main conclusions drawn from this study are that all the students benefited from using dance imagery and thought that putting dance imagery in practice can help with their development of technique. This dissertation recommends that future research needs to be addressed in this particular area of study at university level.
