The aim of this project is to establish the feasibility of a café-restaurant, named Croeso Cynnes, in the town of Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, West Wales. In order to achieve this aim a literature review and a detailed market analysis were conducted. This would help to define the product and establish the target market of the business. It was founded that the target market would be characterised by age, job description and level of prosperity. The research method employed to conduct market research were questionnaires and semi structured interviews, these were supported by secondary research and helped refine the target market. After this research a business plan was developed to suit the needs of the target market. The business plan covers areas such as employment, marketing, legal aspects and financial forecasts. The financial forecasts show that the business continues to make profits in all three years forecast and this shows that Croeso Cynnes has a strong chance of survival. A SWOT analysis was conducted of Croeso Cynnes this identified the strengths of the business which can be used as unique selling points, and will give the business a competitive edge. The skills and industry knowledge that the entrepreneur has and its location. Opportunities for the business were identified as the strength and growth potential in the area that the business is going to be located. The threats of the business were identified to be competitors in the area and the refusal of a premises license. The research concluded that the proposed business idea has very strong foundations supported by the market research that was undertaken.
