Abstract
The article presents an overview of books and articles which have been written on the subject of mental toughness in athletics. The overview was compiled in an effort to raise awareness of the key conceptual issues and methodological issues related to mental toughness. A discussion of the definition of mental toughness, and of several research studies which have been conducted on mental toughness, is presented.
