The purpose of this enterprise project is to undertake a Critical examination on the Feasibility of opening a successful late night cafe/lounge in the heart of Cardiff City. The research will focus on attracting the International student demographic. Primary research was undertaken in the form of semi-structured interviews in order to gain an in-depth reflection of international students perceptions of evening entertainment within UK society, and also to examine whether a venue such as Hakuna Lounge would be of interest to them. 20 students between the ages of 18-30 were sampled. Business owners and operators in the sector were also interviewed in the form of a semi-structured interview, with a view to gaining an insight into profitable evening venues that were not primarily focused on alcohol. The research conducted, although small in representation of the international student demographic, clearly highlighted the need for a new Café/Lounge, to incorporate later opening hours & the appropriate features and service to attract the international student demographic.
