Previous studies into the effect of exercise on the absorption of subcutaneously injected long-acting insulin have been conflicting. This study suggests that insulin glargine can be safely and effectively administrated without a dose change during sub-maximal exercise. The findings have implications for people prescribing, and patients with type I diabetes. Backx contributed to the design of the study, the data collection, the data analysis, and edited the manuscript.
