Abstract
Conducted in a practical performance environment, the paper reports on an imagery intervention with an elite performer over a 14-week period of the competitive season. Multiple methods of data collection were adopted within an action research framework. The findings of the study advanced knowledge and understanding of the use and effectiveness of imagery interventions with elite athletes in a performance environment, while also providing some important insights into what remains within sport psychology a novel methodological approach. Evans advised on the design of the study, oversaw data collection, and wrote/edited the manuscript.
