Abstract
This paper was based originally on a commissioned ethical audit of the governance of sportscotland in 2002. Drawing upon theoretical insights from applied philosophy, the paper presents a transferable conceptual model for evaluating the moral health (or otherwise) of public sector sports organisations. It also presents a method for conducting such an evaluation that interrogates different organisational stake-holders proportionate to their impact on the production and reproduction of the organisational ethos.
