Snap Travel is an Internet travel retailer aimed at the over fifties travel and holiday
market. The over fifties market is the fastest growing Internet travel consumer and it is considered an affluent market. Although it is aimed at a particular market, Snap Travel will not limit itself to just one type of customer. All sales will be conducted through the website 100 people were surveyed using face-to-face market research and an online survey.
There are a number of advantages of targeting an older consumer; they are rich in
leisure time and they have a high disposable income. This age group is not usually
restricted to taking holidays during school breaks. They are becoming an adventurous
market.Aim: To evaluate the feasibility of setting up an Internet-based travel company aimed at the over fifties market, selling products such as paokage holidays, flights, hotels and crulses.
Objectives: Complete a literature review using various sources making comparisons
between various sources of literature. Conduct the market research looking at competitors and customers, the latter
through primary research. Explore the business format required. Analyse the business and its environment using SWOT and PEST analysis. Identify the financial requirements required - own capital, loans, grants. Explore the legal issues involved in setting up this type of business. Evaluate the above objectives.
