A case study of practioners' use of ICT and learning with children with ASD in a special school setting in south Wales, United Kingdom.

This report investigated practitioners' use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching and learning with children with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) in a special school setting in South Wales, United Kingdom. The research employed a case study approach and began with an analysis of past literature associated with the topic, although the main focus is on the evaluation of the information obtained from the primary research. This data was collected using qualitative and quantitative methods in the form of an online questionnaire and semi-structured interviews incorporating photo elicitation...The report concludes that despite the disadvantages of using ICT in this context, many of the advantages prevail over them. Moreover, whilst the setting for this case study was one special school, this reserach has implications for a wider debate.
