Abstract
The following study investigates into the motivations behind choosing to work abroad in the travel and tourism industry as a customer service representative. This was demonstrated through the exploration into motivational factors, the working conditions and lifestyle as well as the theory that the reality may have been a bid to escape the UK. This research aims and objectives were successfully achieved through the investigations into the surrounding literature, Quantitative and Qualitative methods of research. The main focus was on the past and present participants, who the researcher had previously worked with during a personal experience in the industry, who had initially generated idea for the study. The study concludes that that the majority of the representatives seek a temporary experience during the youth period, which allows travelling and socialisation with the opportunity of a future career.
