Abstract
This paper represents a unique and innovative collaboration between moral philosophy and moral psychology in sport. It represents and attempt to synthesise Aristotelian accounts of character and virtue with contemporary evidence from psychological research into moral action in sport. McNamee and Jones provided the moral theoretical input, Jones provided the critique of the psychological literature and Duda provided an overview of the psychology based literature. The conceptual and ethical framework developed in the paper should inform future empirical research in the field.
