"My mum's hair is green!" An exploratory study into the perceived effects of the Foundation Phase on development of children's creativity

This dissertation focuses on the perce¡ved effects of the Foundation Phase on the development of children's creativity within a mainstream pr¡mary school sett¡ng. A qualitative approach to data collection was used. Semi structured interviews were used to elicit in depth information regard¡ng teachers perceptions relating to the ways in which creativity can be developed within the topic areas of Art and Craft and Music. ln addition, non participant observations were canied out to explore how opportunities for creativity were provided within free play and structured play activities.
