As previous research established adult-child differences in fatigue during intermittent exercise, this study investigated the influence of recovery duration. The findings confirmed greater fatigue resistance of children whilst also establishing physiological responses to the exercise and identifying a role of biomechanical alterations to stride mechanics to help maintain performance with fatigue. The research has provided a platform for further investigation to help understand the complex phenomenon of fatigue and its interaction with growth and development. Oliver contributed to the protocol and experimental design, data collection and some writing of the manuscript.
