dc.description.abstractThis study established fatigue induced changes in sprint and jump performance following prolonged intermittent exercise, whilst also providing biomechanical analyses of changes in force production and muscle activity with fatigue. The research identified a link between the amount of muscle stretch and loading with the magnitude of fatigue experienced following prolonged exercise, implicating proprioceptive feedback mechanisms in the fatigue process. The findings have implications for multiple-sprint sport athletes and can help inform training programmes as well as providing a platform for further research. Oliver contributed to the research design, data collection, data analyses and writing of the research paper.en_US
