Abstract
The present dissertation aims to analyse the possibility of applying Strategic Management frameworks in the management of the law firms in Bulgaria. It focuses on the management problems that law firms are currently facing and suggests appropriate solutions for overcoming these problems, referring to global best practices and the latest Strategic Management concepts. The research seeks to investigate to what extent the imlementation of strategic planning processes to a law firm could increase its productivity, flexibility and competitiveness. The research paper starts with a critical review of relevant literature – academic books and papers, business journals and articles, which identify relevant theoretical concepts and ideas on which basis are fomed the main hypothesis, which this study seeks to prove. The assumptions are examined through primary research – survey, conducted among a sample of Bulgarian lawyers. The primary research investigates the insights of the Bulgarian market of legal services to identify and outline its problems and specifics. Detailed explanation of the methodology used to carry out the research is provided in the Methodology section. The results both from the primary and secondary research are analysed and compared in the Data and Analysis section in order to prove or reject the core hypothesis, formed during the process of investigation. Based on the Analysis of all the primary and secondary data gathered, are made Conclusions about the topic of investigation, which provided answers of the main research questions around which this research was built. Furthermore recommendations for possible implications of the data and for future researches are made.
