'Events bring communities together – face-to-face. They share a common belief, a passion or hobby, through a shared industry or as part of a local, national or international community' (Britain for Events, 2014). The author decided upon the development of an online event hire business due to her love of all things events. Bringing people together for celebration and enjoyment has always been a passion of hers, and this has transcended into the idea to establish a business that could provide people with the décor and props that they need to make their event truly special. The author will be undertaking this project to establish the feasibility of setting up an online-based event prop hire business in Cardiff. The project will include primary and secondary research and will highlight the various different planning processes that are required to undertake the development of a new enterprise. The project will include a business plan, which will strategically break down every aspect of the business planning process and help identify any weaknesses that the business may be subject to. The author will present a three-year financial forecast, establish a marketing strategy and identify any staffing requirements the business may have. All aspects will be critically analysed to establish if the venture would be viable. Following this projects completion the author intends to have a business plan that could be put into practice in a real life scenario in order to develop Red Letter Event Hire as a working business.
