The aim of this project is to evaluate the feasibility of setting up a new, luxurious, Asian themed, boutique style nightclub catering for the over 25’s age group in the young professional district of Cardiff Bay. In order to complete this aim the author established a set of objectives, which can be found in the introduction. At the beginning of the project the author conducted extensive research in the form of a literature review, from relevant books, journals, government policy documents, the Internet and other materials in order to gain an insight into the industry and establish whether there was a gap in the market. The author then carried out primary research – by distributing 80 questionnaires to residents and visitors of Cardiff Bay and undertook three interviews with local nightclub managers. This was essential and assessed the feasibility and demand for the business. The results assisted the author in the completion of a detailed and well thought out business plan. This was the most thorough and complex area of the project and included information regarding the products and services, market research, financial forecasts, SWOT and PESTLE analysis, laws and legislations, human resources elements, marketing strategies, future developments, contingency plans and much more. The businesses plan compiled all the relevant information and was the heart of determining whether the business would be a viable concept. After the business plan, the author went on to complete a chapter on an analysis and discussions, in order to critically evaluate and analyse her process, highlighting her success with regards to the business planning and research methods. The author also acknowledges whether the nightclub/bar is a feasible project. The final chapter of this Enterprise project re-visits the aims and objectives highlighted in the introduction and critically evaluates whether they have been achieved and if so, how.
