The Efficacy of Opening a Retrospective Piscine and Tuber Based Eating Venue in Cardiff City Centre

The purpose of the project was to see how feasibly it would be to open a traditional fish and chip restaurant in the centre of Cardiff. Cardiff is a growing City and is constantly opening new places for people to dine with lots of commercial areas and popular area for student to gather as well as tourists, there is also a lot of passing trade in the area. In today’s society fish and chip shops have lost the traditional side of the food, serving the fish and chips to passers-by as a fast food and losing the luxury of the tradition, they also have bigger extensive menu’s including burgers and kebabs as part of their sales. The owner intends to make a diner style 50’s bric-a-brac restaurant where the customers can enjoy the traditional fish and chips with a beverage of their choice including the choice of alcoholic beverages. The author has conducted a literature review in order to research the type of industry and becoming and entrepreneur, this was done by accessing books, journals, online reports etc. further research was then done by asking people in the centre to complete questionnaires and interviews for managers of two types of food outlets in the centre. The author then decided that there is a market within the centre for a traditional fish and chips hop such and Fiinns and decided to continue to go ahead with the business start-up and planning process.
