An explorative investigation into the use of social media as a marketing platform

This study is concerned with exploring how marketers can use social media as a marketing platform. By establishing a set of disciplines that pertain to the effective use of the marketing mix, this study has been able to conclude that similarities do exist between those disciplines and consumer behaviour on social media, thus making it beneficial to the marketing process.
