Abstract
Abstract A variety of regression analysis techniques are used to determine the pure effect of population growth on GDP growth, investigating the relationship between the two. Hinged around the hypothesis that they have a positive relationship, using china and their ‘One child policy’ as a control group we find that the work of Thomas Malthus and Zhou & Peck to be consistent with our findings, and evidence to reject the hypothesis laid out in the research, not only using time series data for China, but on a global scale.
