Abstract
ABSTRACT This research report sets out to identify the use and benefits of a Cloud Computing System within Cardiff Metropolitan University. It looks at the advantages and disadvantages such a system can have; with a specific look at the impacts for students. Within the literature review discussions took place surrounding the financial impacts cloud systems can have on higher education facilities, as well as the file sharing and storage capabilities they offer. Factors taken into consideration include the benefits a cloud computing system can have on the teaching staff and educational researchers based within Cardiff Metropolitan University. The primary research was analysed and discussed to identify the correlating factors between previous research and the student’s answers from Cardiff Metropolitan University, as well as the contradictions that have been highlighted throughout the report. Recommendations are made within the conclusion, listing what considerations should be made if a cloud computing system were to be implemented at Cardiff Metropolitan University, as well as a brief discussion as to the limitations of the study. Finally there is an outline to future research that could be carried out continuing on from this research report.
