The development of an application to enhance the electronic marketing capabilities of Dectek Ltd

Abstract – Eliot Kerslake The purpose of this project is to help indicate the fundamental components of any marketing strategy and how each element can be categorised. The research analyses focuses on different approaches to electronic marketing, with the development of an application that can help enhance the electronic marketing campaign of a small to medium enterprise called Dectek Ltd. Dectek Ltd produce a large range of printed products which have a large range of customers demographic. Investigation into how to reach a wide range of demographic effectively was carried out; this indicated how an email marketing campaign could be a method of a focusing on core demographics and the pros and cons of trying to do so. Interviews with Decteks senior management were carried out and research into academic literature. The software was developed using Microsoft Visual Studio development environment which involved different program languages to incorporate different elements, this was all developed in compliance to the software development lifecycle and the project shows each stage and how it was carried out. Research did indicate that the software did enhance Decteks marketing campaign but could be further developed by additional search options and features.
