Cloud Computing and what Higher Eduction students think about its risks

Abstract – Khaled Mohammed Cloud Computing is a new revelation in the IT industry, with the usage of it becoming more popular in the last decade. Cloud computing has advantages such as the reduced cost of the IT equipments (Hardware, Software) and the flexibility for enterprises and individuals; however there is concern for clients before moving to the Cloud. That concern could be security issues or another form risks for instants the privacy agreement. This dissertation focused on Cloud Computing and what higher Education students think about its risks. The study is a review of relevant knowledge and research from a selection of literature, including books, articles and journals related to the topic; which grasps theories and incites into specific areas. The research contains some research methods like questionnaires, face-to-face interviews and a focus group; containing a wide range of different students from Cardiff Metropolitan University. The techniques have been used so that a vast range of information could be gathered for analysis including qualitative and quantitative data. Finally after analysing the data, the study came out with some interesting points such as before moving to the cloud consumers need to understand what cloud computing is and to make it clear to the providers. Nevertheless, the providers are doing their best to secure the clients information so that their clients will need to trust the providers.
