Abstract – Jacob Wingfield
The intention of this project was to design and develop a mobile application for the Windows Phone operating system. The primary goal of the application was to function as a tool that can aid users with saving money using a system that obtains the amount of text messages they send and then calculates how much money they could save, using a saving rate of their choice. The secondary task of the application was to provide further support for saving money by listing links to free, unbiased money advice. The project report progresses through a serious of stages that are required to complete each objective and finally the aim of the project. Information such as the environment the application is going to be created, the mobile software development method used and human-computer interaction elements that are associated with mobiles are detailed in the report. The many obstacles and challenges that arose due to design and developmental decisions are described and the solutions necessary to overcome them. Also listed are features and improvements that can be added to the application at a future date to increase the quality and functionality.
