dc.description.abstractAlthough research has been conducted on the impact of attitudes on PA and reviews of HPQE separately, the effects of HQPE on attitudes is yet to be regarded as an important focus. The aim of the current study was to identify whether HQPE can impact upon attitudes, further more on it impacting on the levels of PA in later life. A qualitative research design was implemented so that the aims could be accomplished. Semi Structured interviews were conducted with a sample of six university students. The sample consisted of three students who study sport, and, three who study other subject related degrees. The results indicated that only specific elements of HQPE impact upon attitude. Confidence and Enjoyment were found to be key factors to developing positive attitudes towards PA. Furthermore the variety of activities offered positively correlated to the levels of Physical Activity in later life. However, when considering future research it must be recognised that the students were recalling Physical Education lessons. Therefore, the PE they received may differ to the actual quality delivered then, and indeed, that which is being delivered in schools today. That said, the study clearly supports and identifies that Enjoyment, the Range of Variety of activities offered, and, Confidence are key to developing physically active individuals.en_US
