The overall aim of this dissertation is the investigation of the subject of travel motivation in conjunction with the interest exhibited towards ecotourism by the chosen demographic of students. The study has been divided into five chapters. The first chapter gives a general introduction to the aims and objectives of the project as well as providing an introduction to the subject of ecotourism. The next chapter is the literature review which concentrates on the current literature available on ecotourism and travel motivation theories. Chapter three provides the reader with a view into the primary research undertaken for this study which included the distribution of 50 questionnaires and conduction of 2 interviews. This is followed by chapter four with the presentation, discussion and analysis of the data collected from primary research. The last chapter provides an overall summary of results, conclusion and recommendations for future research.
