The project aim was to evaluate the feasibility of setting up an organic nutritional and healthy delicatessen based in Jersey. The project met the following criteria: A literature review that analyses the current market trends regarding healthy eating in the hospitality sector. The literature review will also identify relevant information on nutrition and food categories from differing sources. Collection of primary market research to highlight possible areas of weaknesses in the market while collecting consumer expectations. Investigations into the legal requirements for the business to operate and application of the necessary measures to abide by health and safety regulations. Development of an accurate business plan that reflects current market trends. Evaluation of the feasibility of the idea and the proposal of additional recommendations for the business. The business plan will be based on the primary and secondary research results along with the author‟s knowledge gained from working in the industry and completing an events management degree. A marketing strategy was devised as a result of research, cost implications and target audience. The marketing strategy will be used to target the gap in the market within the hospitality industry. Financial forecasts have been predicted for the first three years of trading, suggesting the business will be profitable and continue to grow at a steady rate of 5%. The future developments of the business in terms of growth strategies along with SWOT analysis findings have been presented within the business plan.
