The aim of this project was to determine whether "Kates Wedding Boutique‟ is a feasible and financially viable business, to come to a conclusion, a detailed literature review, business plan, market study and financial forecasts have been undertaken. The location for the boutique is Menai Bridge, in Anglesey- North Wales, the main purpose of the business consists of two different concepts, firstly the wedding planning service along with exhibition space within the boutique for other wedding related businesses to showcase their work. Within the literature review, relevant information was extracted from various academics sources to analyse the wedding industry, starting up a small business in North Wales and also the support available to young entrepreneurs. The different tastes and trends within the wedding industry and how they have changed in the 21st century have also been studied, along with entrepreneurship, same sex marriages and the views on wedding planners in the UK. Primary research was also conducted via an online questionnaire and distributing questionnaires at two wedding fayres in North Wales with 100 participants. Questions were based on three areas, the participant, the wedding and wedding planners. The business plan details the services the business will provide looking into the operational, legal and financial requirements for setting up a small business. The business plan provides full financial forecasts for the first 3 years of operation along with a comprehensive marketing strategy. The project then finishes with a discussion of results, summarising the main points discussed throughout and giving recommendations for improvements in different areas. The conclusion then discusses the original aims and objectives determining that the business idea is feasible.
