The main aim of this project is to assess the feasibility of opening a business in Sherborne, Dorset and the surrounding areas supplying the retired generation with a range of fresh and frozen ready meals. It will involve an insight into literature available around the subject, a market study and a business plan. The project included an aim and a range of objectives to ensure the above was achieved. The aim of this proposed enterprise project is: To evaluate the feasibility of opening up a gourmet take-away food business offering homemade frozen and fresh meals for the retired population of Sherborne, Dorset and the surrounding areas. The objectives to help complete this aim are: 1. To create a comprehensive literature review showing academic sources and other information which is available. 2. To conduct market research into Sherborne, Dorset to gain a clearer understanding of the market. This includes both the customer‟s wants and needs 3. To create a business plan to test the financial feasibility of the business idea. This will include internal and external analysing techniques such as SWOT and PESTLE to gain an understanding of the business environment. It will also consider the necessary legal issues and regulations and a financial forecast to evaluate the costs and predicted profits. 4. To evaluate the feasibility of the proposed venture of opening a gourmet ready meal business for the retired in Sherborne, Dorset and surrounding areas. 5. To conclude and make recommendations for the potential proposed business plan. After three years of trading Kitchen Angels will become an established name on Sherborne‟s high street attracting a large number of customers from here and the surrounding areas. Financial forecasts have indicated that this will become a successful business in the future.
