The aim of this project is to evaluate the feasibility of setting up a new, unique tour company specialising in sporting/outdoor activities. In order to complete this aim, the author established a set of objectives, which can be found in the introduction. At the beginning of the project, the author conducted extensive secondary research in the form of a literature review. Using relevant books, journals, government documents, the internet and additional materials in order to gain an understanding of the tourism industry and establish whether there was an identifiable gap in the market. The author then carried out extensive primary market research, by publishing online questionnaires which were successfully completed by 100 candidates, as well as undertaking 2 interviews with those in the tourism industry. The results were then used to make business decisions and assumptions for finances, to overall assess whether the business plan was feasible. This contained the most complex and detailed part of the business plan, with both SWOT and PESTLE analysis being conducted, along with competitor analysis, products and services, human resources, marketing strategy, legal issues, future development, financial developments and more. This business plan concluded all relevant information needed and was the centre of determining whether the business would be a viable and profitable concept. Once the business plan was complete, the author then went on to critically analyse and evaluate the given process. This contained highlighting her success with regards to the business planning and market research process making possible recommendations if the process was to be implemented again. The final chapter of the enterprise project saw the aims and objectives to be re-visited, where they were previously set in the introduction. A conclusion if drawn on whether these aims and objectives were successful, and if so, how this was accomplished.
