Abstract The aim of this enterprise project is to research the feasibility of an interactive Thai restaurant in heart of Cardiff city centre offering high end Thai food. The purpose of opening the restaurant in Cardiff city is due to the large target market within the area ranging from a huge student demographic catchment through to the a very wealthy market. The author’s reason for bringing this concept to the City is due to the current hospitality market being dominated by technology. The interactive concept offers guests the opportunity to interact with each other via playing games as well as being able to order their food and keeping interaction with staff to a minimum, whilst communicating and enjoying through the touch sensitive interactive tables with the rest of the party. There are currently no restaurants offering the same concept as Avant Garde does in the Cardiff city area, meaning this is a great opportunity to gain a foothold of the unique dining and interactive experience. The author undertook in depth primary and secondary research consisting of a detailed researched literature review as well as primary research which consisted of 80 questionnaires being handed out to Cardiff residents to gain a better understanding of the market. The author undertook a focus group question session with a local restaurant owner and staff to gain a better understanding of the market from an experienced owner. This market research helped the author to complete a detailed business plan which was then used to write up the business plan by using different techniques to understand the market and ensure that the business was marketed correctly, through SWOT and PESTLE analysis of competitors as well as an individual analysis on Avant Garde. The market research also helped the author with the financial forecasts to produce a three year forecast through market research and what the target market would be happy to pay. The author also completed independent research into certain sources such as suppliers covering refurbishment through to locally sourced food produce. The final chapter of the evaluation will look at analysing the feasibility of the business venture and looking at recommendations and conclusions for the whole project. All tables and charts included within the projector are not included within the final word count.
