The aim of this enterprise project is ‘an evaluation of the feasibility of setting up a gourmet sandwich outlet within Cardigan, West Wales’. The purpose of the project is to assess whether it is feasible for the author to open a business in the food industry in the small coastal town of Cardigan. Several objectives have also been set in order to assist in achieving the project aim: Conduct a comprehensive literature review on the catering industry. Academic sources will be used to ensure the information gained is from reliable sources. Conduct detailed primary research in the Cardigan area to investigate the demand for a sandwich outlet using questionnaires and interviews. Conduct secondary research on the market demand. Reports will be used from sources such as Mintel to gain specific statistics. Study the legal requirements for a catering business. These will include legislations by the UK Government and the European Union as well as legal requirements by local authorities. Compile a business plan for Gourmet 2 Go to establish the feasibility of the business idea. This will include a detailed forecasting of the financial aspects of the business and research the external and internal environments in which the business will operate in using analytical tools such as SWOT and PESTLE analysis. Evaluate the feasibility and potential of opening a gourmet sandwich outlet in Cardigan using the business plan and the financial documents created. Conclude and suggest recommendations on how this business idea can be improved in the future. After conducting a detailed research for this project, it has been concluded that it would be feasible to open a Gourmet sandwich shop within the Cardigan area
