Cloud Computing is considered to be one of the most popular technologies to store, manage, share data with the help of the internet. However, there are various issues and threats that Cloud Computing faces regarding data security and privacy. The main aim of this research is to examine the purpose of using the Cloud by the users so that the researcher identifies security threats that they might face, regarding data and privacy. In this thesis, the study has focused over various objectives including the use of the Cloud by the users, the threats that can affect the users, the causes behind these threats, the cloud provider’s offerings and the recommendations for protecting the user data and privacy within the cloud. Nevertheless, this research project has different chapters including literature review, research methodology and data analysis that can support the objectives mentioned above. The literature review includes various research studies from other researchers who have been related with this topic. Furthermore, the research methodology includes the choices of the researcher in order to conduct the research in an effective manner. The data analysis was presented for the purpose to analyse the collected data in a thematic manner. With respect to the above, a questionnaire has been conducted to ask the Facebook users to contribute to the investigation. Finally, in accordance with the findings, users should get the proper knowledge before proceeding to the Cloud world so that they will know how to take the appropriate actions when a threat arises.
