Enterprise can be defined as the 'combination of attitudes and skills that helps an individual turn an idea into reality (Marcouse et al., 2011).' The researcher believes that an enterprise project allows for the exploration of setting up a business from inventing a business idea to researching the market, creating a business plan and analysing the feasibility. The researcher believes she has the right set of skills to undertake an enterprise project as she is creative and always seeking new opportunities. The researcher also completed the Enterprise Catalyst (2016) which stated that 'You have all the basic building blocks of success. You are motivated, have a lot of self-belief and are willing to learn and change as you need to.' The business idea for this enterprise project is to set up a mobile catering caravan selling afternoon tea products at events within South Wales and will also be available for private hire. The products will have a Welsh influence and where possible, locally sourced Welsh ingredients will be used. The researcher wanted to create a business that helps other local businesses and the Welsh economy. The name of the business 'Te-eto Cakes and Bakes' follows this Welsh theme with Te-eto translating to tea again in Welsh, enticing customers to come back for tea again and again. The researcher has chosen to complete this enterprise project as she has previous experience within the hospitality industry. The researcher is currently studying International Hospitality and Events Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University which is providing the researcher with knowledge of the industry and the chance to link theory with practice. The researcher has also worked in a range of hospitality based roles including a year's internship at the Greenwich Country Club in Connecticut America where she had the opportunity to work within the pastry kitchen to improve her baking skills and also worked front of house which helped develop her excellent customer service skills. With regards to the business idea the researcher has always enjoyed baking cakes from a young age and the recipes and skills have been passed down through generations within the family. The researcher would like to develop this love of baking and express her passion and customers service skills to create a feasible business. The outdoor event market in which Te-eto Cakes and Bakes will fall into is a worth £2.2 billion (BVEP, 2014). There are many advantages of entering the mobile catering market as Shiring et al., (2001) states there is potential for businesses to cater to more people than they would be able to from a permanent shop. Mobile catering allows a business to move around to seek the demand of customers and businesses are able to change their menus to meet the needs of consumers. The researcher wanted to set up a mobile catering business as it entails fewer overheads than setting up a permanent shop and allows for greater flexibility. Also a successful mobile catering business has the potential to achieve a gross profit margin of over 65% (NCASS, 2017)
