A critical evaluation of the feasibility of setting up an Event Catering Company in Cardiff, which provides Fine Dining to event organisations to suit their clients requests

The author has decided to undertake this enterprise project to create a business that would change the current face of event catering. The business will trade under the name ‘Elleat’ and will operate within Cardiff, were it intends to be hired out by various event organisations, to fulfil their clients’ needs for their prestigious events. The business concept is to be an event catering company that offers fine dining services to event organisations that would hire the business to fulfil their client’s needs. The services can be chosen by the client with regards to whether they want to hire the whole service or just parts of it, such as the chefs or waiters. The business intents on promoting themselves at several wedding fairs to attract clientele, to create a strong brand requisition; with the overall outcome by year three being the number one choses for event catering in South Wales The literature review covers several factors that the business needs to take into consideration with a few of these being, event catering, history, fine dining and market segmentation. The primary research for this report consists of 92 questioners and 6 interviews. Both methods of data collection showed great promise for the proposed business, providing positive feedback, and awareness of where to take the business. The financial forecasts provided in this report illustrate the potential profitability the business intends on making within its first three years of trading, gaining substantial profit within its first initial year. It is clearly shown the growing profits and sales, showing no sign of business slowing down, or losses. The business intends on this remaining the same through all years of trading, with the potential for slight profit drop in year 3 when, the business purchases a portable kitchen.
