dc.description.abstractResistance training for youth athletes is becoming increasingly common. Integrating a periodized resistance training program into school curriculum can help develop athleticism for all youth. This article aims to provide an overview of a resistance training program used in a New Zealand secondary school. Provided is an insight into the levels of planning for an effective athletic development program. Properly sequenced training blocks are essential in achieving long-term success. Additionally, coaches must be sufficiently certified and qualified to work with youth, which includes tailoring approaches to varying levels of skill and providing effective feedback.en_US
